Earlier this month I was invited to conduct an on stage interview with Jason Kilar, chief executive officer of Huluthe DLD conference in Munich. It gave me a chance to visit the city, walk around in bitter cold and look around what is arguably one of the cleanest and quietest cities in the world.
Here are some random street scenes I captured with my Blackberry Bold. I actually wish I was a better photographer and had a decent camera, especially since my friend Matt Mullenweg continues to take such stunning photos with his fancy camera. Or perhaps I should just stop traveling to places he is visiting.
I was struck by these chairs, quietly awaiting someone to sit down in the main hall of the DLD Confernce.
What a start to 2010: it already feels like the old new year. My calendar has never been this packed and my days never so crowded. My travel schedule has also become pretty hectic as well — I have already been to Florida this year and soon, I am heading to Munich where at the DLD Conference I will be interviewing Jason Killar, CEO of Hulu on stage. Ever since I spent time with Jason at NewTeeVee Live a couple of years ago, I have become a huge fan and I respect what he has been able to achieve at Hulu, despite all the constraints he has had to work with.
I return from Munich to attend an Apple special event – which means the entire day is going to be spent writing about a specific news announcement, whatever that might be. And then off to land of Hank Moody, where I will get to meet another favorite of mine Paul Graham, one of the co-founders of YCombinator. I am interviewing him later this month at the TwiistUp conference in Los Angeles. Graham is a joy to chat with, for he always has interesting, smart and provocative thoughts about start-ups and entrepreneurship.
I spoke at one of the earliest Startup School events, and since then have talked to Paul often times, mostly in private. I have found that when I speak with him on a one-on-one basis, he tends to impart even more wisdom than usual — not all of which I agree with. It is going to be a fun hour for sure.
The event which is going to feature three of my other friends, Eric Ries, Dave McClure and Robert Scoble is scheduled to be held on January 27 and 28th. (More details here.) I am also looking forward to re-connected with Lisa Stone, co-founder of BlogHer.
