The evolution of radio waves

Signal generators make me think of the old Moog analog synthesizers from the late 60s (Walter/Wendy Carlos and Switched On Bach for example). The Moogs are still made and wonderful. Bob Moog expanded into theremins before his death a few years ago and has some solid units (I’ve built several theremins and have one of his). Theremins are really strange audio signal generators – essentially VCOs where you use your body impedance to control them.
But there are a couple of iPhone apps that might interest you that are embellished mini synthesizers.. the Animoog and the Filtatron … check ’em out on the iTunes store. Great little toys.
