Reasons

Last night when reading the John Le Carre book, I came across this line and immediately thought of fellow entrepreneurs.

Reason as motive, or reason as logic, or reason as a way of life? They don’t have to give me a reason – I can write my own damn reasons – and that is better than the half-baked tolerance that comes from no longer caring! George Smiley, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

  1. Great stuff, LeCarre is so much more than a spy novelist. He’s really writing about a completely existential world that we all inhabit from time to time. Such a rich sense of people and situation.

And btw – if this is your first reading of Tinker Tailor, and if it was spurred by the recent great film adaptation, make sure to check out the British version with Alec Guinness. Six hours of the best television you’ll ever see – on Netlix
