Review: Karunesh’s Global Spirit

If you have heard Buddha Bar series, then you are familiar with Karunesh. And contrary to popular belief, he is not Indian by origin. His real name is Bruno Reuter, and he is a German Graphic Designer who had a motorcycle accident which got him hooked on India and Osho. He took an Indian name Karunesh which means Compassion in Sanskrit. Here is a very nice review of his album, Global Spirits. If you to read more about him, I suggest this link for a complete bio.

Single In the City

Little India, has a sort of a Singles issue out. You can read it on the web, but what really caught my eye – the cover story: Single In The City.

Why? Because being a thirty something single man living in San Francisco (only temporarily, I promise) it is something which has been well a life. Regardless, the article, if you read it, does not really say anything. The writer, with four interviews with some single South Asian women in their 30s, generalizes and frankly does not add anything. In fact, it misses most of the major points – for instance that many of us are postponing relationships because the f***ing economy sucks, and despite all the pretensions of going to the gyms, we are all putting on weight.

Of all the moronic statements in the world, here is what gets my goat.

Bobby Jindal, or Uncle RoM

From my In-Box: Bobby has a strongly anti-abortion platform. He and his wife have a covenant marriage, a Louisiana innovation that mandates premarital counselling and sets stricter terms for divorce. When asked, Should same-sex partners have the same rights, such as tax and employee benefits, as partners in marriages between a man and a woman? What initiatives would you take related to this issue?,” Bobby said, “I agree with President Bush that marriage is a sacred institution that is between a man and a woman. All Americans already enjoy civil rights.” Etc etc etc. I don’t even want to get into his “economic policies.”

Bobby is Piyush Jindal, now Republican candidate for Louisiana governor. Is this what NRIs need? Is this what America needs? Another Uncle bloody RoM?
