Beluga Sacrificed for Facebook Messenger. Dumb

Ever since Facebook announced its new offering at f8, I have become a little cautious about using the service and if I don’t have to, I don’t visit the service. Even my messaging account on Facebook lies fallow. I have removed the app from my phone and from my iPad.

However, I do love using Beluga. It was the only product from Facebook that lived on my mobile devices. Today’s news that they are killing Beluga, a product they bought in March 2011 is a bitter disappointment. Beluga is an elegant, highly functional and beautifully designed product for its own very mediocre Facebook Messenger. Not that it is a surprise.

  1. Yet another reason you ought to remove Facebook login for comments on your blog. Wish Facebook would just leave the Internet. I know it sounds rash, but the recent actions from Facebook with regards to f8 and their plans for the future is just that, rash & off putting.
