The Index on Censorship Whistleblower of the Year Award went to late Indian engineer Satyendra Kumar Dubey, murdered after he spoke out against corruption. The judges were Man Booker prize nominated novelist Monica Ali, award winning musician Nitin Sawhney, Film critic Mark Kermode, journalist Ann Leslie and Index patrons Caroline Moorehead and Geoffrey Hosking.
