Meebo co-foundersWhat a week it has been for GigaTeam, which has been on the conference circuit. Katie flew in from Peru to go straight to Los Angeles and cover CTIA for us and brought back some good, and some hot stories. Liz was covering the future of Web Apps conference, while I did the bloggers’ panel at VoN using the SightSpeed video conferencing set-up. I had stopped at Web Apps conference yesterday, but decided to focus on other matters today, including a visit to celebrate web based IM company, Meebo’s first anniversary. (Congratulations guys!) (A 2 minute video interview with Mr. Meebo, at the bottom of this post.)

Of course this morning did the Cranky Geeks show, which was awesome because I learnt that Kevin Rose likes green tea, and those who drink green tea tend to live 20% longer than those who don’t. Old friend Mark Anderson was on the show and Sebastian filled in for uber crank, John Dvorak quite well. And while I was doing all that, I managed to do conference calls with JDSU and Infinera for a story I am working on for next week.

I also got a chance to hang out with Emily and Elizabeth from hit podcast, Sex with Emily. She is now doing talk radio on a local radio station in San Francisco, and was discovered, thanks to her podcast. She is going to go five nights a week, and well who knows national next! She is real life Carrie Bradshaw, except funnier. She gets tens of thousands people downloading her podcast, but I think she needs some advertising. Those bandwidth bills are a killer.

The downside of all this activity – 400 unanswered emails, three unfinished posts and complete exhaustion. Good news is that weekend is around the corner, which is typically when I catch up with my sleep (and email.) Bigger downside – I missed Ev’s brilliant talk about start-ups and troubles that come with being an entrepreneur. Liz did a good job of capturing the talk, but I still wish I was there. Ev is one of my favorite people. Also don’t miss what Dave says about what Ev says about start-ups. Okay now I know, I need some sleep.
