Being one of the first people outside of Twitter family to sign-up for Twitter, I was lucky enough to get a short two-letter handle: @om. As the service has gain popularity, it has become obvious that the short handle has its own set of shortcomings — especially now that there hundreds of millions of people using Twitter around the world.
It is becoming difficult to separate signal from noise, especially when it comes to the “@ reply” feature. Here is an example! I get pinged for no reason. 🙂 If you have suggestions, I am all ears.
Update: @jess says that I can do a to:om search and save it and it will only show the @replies sent directly to me. It is working for now. Thanks @jess.
I have the same problem. And that will take the edge off.
But you will also miss a little bit of important commentary/observations/shares related to you.
