As part of our plans to expand the GigaOM footprint to New York, we took a trip to the Big Apple where we visited the NASDAQ stock exchange (where I rang the closing bell), hosted a cocktail at the New York Times building and topped it off with Structure Big Data conference in Chelsea Piers. We are also going to be opening offices in NYC and are going to add a few people in that office. And yes, I will be spending more time in the city that never sleeps. Here is a short video that folks from NASDAQ recorded, where they ask me about my thoughts on the state of the web/tech.
