When it remarked a while back that the “web is dead,” many including myself were initially outraged. However, once you dig into the explanation —it makes perfect sense. We should move on from the old-world thinking of pushing visualization of data onto a web page. It’s now about publishing useful data or metadata which can be encapsulated and delivered to others so they can use apps (or online services) to create visual presentations of mashed data. Websites in the future will be the frames for data to be interpreted and visualized —the end-product but never the first step of the online publishing process.
