I’ve seen firsthand that the “tipping point” for SaaS over licensed software is fast approaching. Companies like Oracle, CA, BMC Software and the like aren’t going to dry up and blow away anytime soon. But the direction is clear, and perhaps the opinions about valuation reflect that.
I seem to remember Ron Conway saying TWiVC that he was not alone in his interest for Enterprise Software. Not all Enterprise software has to be delivered on a SaaS License model and maybe that change is what will tip things another way altogether?
