Capacitive touch devices don’t work with regular gloves and these globes made by Dutch-company, Mujjo (about 25 Euros) have come up with these conductive touchscreen gloves.
Mujjo gloves are made of high-quality silver-coated nylon fibers knitted into the fabric of the glove. These silver-coated nylon fibers make the gloves conductive and therefore touchscreen compatible
Folks in Helsinki were taking about them. If you live in cold climes, then you might be interested in owning these gloves that allow you to use touchscreen devices such as iPhone and iPad without freezing your hands in the cold. I think the East Coast GigaOM team needs these for sure!
I find it difficult to find gloves in my size, so I’ve modified a few with conductive thread. The stuff tends to come in large spools and you don’t need much – maybe 30cm for a globe – so I found a place that will sell small amounts: http://www.adafruit.com/products/603
Thanks Steve for sharing tips on that!
