There really is no need to pay for Google Reader, even if they offered the chance to do so. Feed Fiend (available at http://feedfiend.com) has a directory with a one-click subscribe tool that makes it easy to find new content. It will have a feed import tool very soon to get your feeds from Google Reader. Go try it out.
