What a way to kick off a week ! Google bought Nest for $3.2 billion and in one swoop declared that the time for connected devices had come. Gigaom team, long believers in Nest and Tony Fadell & his co-founder Matt Rogers went into high gear. First it was the news from Jeff. Then came Katie’s carefully articulated must read “who wins and who loses”, followed by Stacey’s thoughtful take on what it all means for privacy in the age of connected devices. And then, a short little interview with Tony (whom I had a chance to interview at Roadmap earlier this year) where he explains that this deal is not about “laptops and phones.”
No link handy – but, add in Alan Mulally warning of increased privacy requirements as new cars become more a part of the connected world.
