Being a big fan of the band, I am super-excited to hear that they are coming out with a new album, Saudade, that will be released on April 1, 2014. All the vocalists on this album are women who have been on previous Thievery Corp albums. That alone is a great reason to buy this album.
This album is really about mine and Eric’s love of bossa nova music and jazz and cinematic soundtrack music from the late ’60s and early ’70s — Rob Garza in conversation with the Wall Street Journal.
Shana Halligan, ex-Bitter:Sweet sings “Depth of My Soul,” a single which is from the new album, Saudade. She, is one of my favorite singers and The Mating Game is on top ten album desert island disc list.
I was listening to the track and I imagined her voice on it. It was kind of a last-minute sketch and we decided to give her a call and see if she could record the vocals. There’s a lot of hidden meanings in the song for me. It’s kind of inspired by love, but it’s also inspired by psychedelic moments musically from all types of soundtracks. I appreciate a lot of films from that era, just the look, the stylings, the locations, everything — Rob Garza tells the Wall Street Journal.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
I love the artwork.
It is quite lovely.

I discovered this band when I lived in Portugal. Now rediscovered through my little blog world. I’m excited to hear the music and it’s lovely to make a little connection when I’m looking at my Reader. Keeps my mind coming back to my blog daily, I just need to find a bit more time to type…
Om, thank you for introducing me to Thievery Corportation…Great Music!!!
