I recently came across two bits of news about cars that are a nice juxtaposition on our society, where it has been and where it can be. If the past has been humans in-total control of the machines, then future it seems, is about machines being mostly in control. One of these cars, represents the golden past where machines’ limits were tested by a person’s ability and dare-do. The other is about limits as part of society’s inevitable future. As someone who doesn’t drive, one is romance the other is freedom. For those who love to drive, the past is freedom and future is dreary. Something to think about.  (Related: My column about future of cars in FastCompany magazine.)
