When I asked my Twitter followers if the world needed yet another storage and file-syncing service, an overwhelming 67 percent said no, but 33 percent think there is an opportunity. Well, that should be good news for Upthere, a company started by Bertrand Serlet, the former senior vice president of software engineering for Apple.

The cloud-storage and file-syncing company got some loving attention from Casey Newton over on The Verge. From what I hear, things aren’t that sanguine and it might be dressing up to be sold. Maybe Apple should buy it and bring back one of the smartest software guys they had. They need him!
