It is five years since Salesforce acquired Heroku, making it one of the earliest bets on cloud by an incumbent software player. Salesforce won Heroku after VMware had shown maximum intent to buy the company. The occasion prompted me to look at the stock prices of Heroku’s suitors. They have moved in opposite direction. I am not saying that Heroku is responsible, but still an interesting coincidence.
