I might have been slow in re-starting my recommended reading list, but I promise you, these are worth reading over the weekend.

  • In conversation with Quincy Jones: The music legends doesn’t hold back in this interview with The Vulture.
  • America’s love affair with Prescription Medication: This is a nominee for National Magazine Awards, and once you read this piece in Consumer Reports, you know why.
  • The Mutilated and the Disappeared: A long feature on migrants on the North American migrant trial, who are mutilated and abused on their way up. Not all make it. A devastatingly heartbreaking story in LongReads, a publication I love to support.
  • The real king of the west, and his kingdom of dust:   What a fantastic gift California Sunday Magazine is for the Golden State. An in-depth investigation into the world of Stewart Resnick is worth reading.
  • The Olympics never ending struggle to keep track of time: This is less about Olympics and more a philosophical rumination on the idea of time. As a watch nerd. Let’s just say, this checked off all the boxes.
  • A techie’s rough guide to GDPR: This is a complicated topic, and Cennydd Bowles has done an excellent job of explaining its nuances and what they mean. Worth a read.
  • Where do Sichuan peppers come from?: Just a fun piece, but given my love for a certain type of cuisine that uses these peppers, I think it merits sharing.
