The long not at all hot summer in San Francisco is slowly breathing its last. It is officially the last weekend of the summer of 2019. I am taking the weekend off — and instead of working on my newsletter, I plan just to read and relax.
This summer has gone by fast and barring a work trip to Portugal and New York, a quick weekend trip to Mendocino, I have worked through the summer. I prefer to take time off in deep winter and make photos in hostile weather locations.
I still like to recharge my batteries by tuning out the noise from the social web. I have a couple of new books on my Kindle. My camera batteries are charged, in case inspiration strikes me. I don’t know what you are doing, but I hope you get to recharge your batteries and come back in September, ready to go.
And while you are at it, enjoy this beautiful sunrise over the glorious San Francisco Bay. Made with my trusty Leica SL and the 24-90 SL lens. My custom preset is based on the Kodak Portra 400 film.
