Sometimes, you need to spend a day being reminded of what you have, instead of focusing on what you don’t. Every year, on my birthday (which happens to be today), I am reminded that I have the luxury of being able to explore ideas and express them in ways that are highly personal and creative. Thank you all for being part of this journey.

I am going to step back for a few days to reflect on ideas, visit my parents, and generally not let the excesses of social media take away this feeling of gratitude that a mile marker in life’s journey provides.

For the year ahead, I hope I can maintain the spirit of an explorer that has guided me for much of my life.

Exactly what the future holds is up in the air — and so am I, as I post this en route from one country to another. I am looking forward to wherever it is I may be headed!
