The Hey Controversy: Last week, the folks behind Basecamp launched a new email platform, Hey. Apple’s app store rejected the app, and it started a firestorm. Ben Brooks has done a great analysis of the situation. It is hype and drama free, and the kind of piece I would have — and should have — written.
The Masks Masquerade: Somehow, wearing masks became a political statement. It shouldn’t be so, as studies have shown time and time again, it is the right way to keep the virus spread under control. And that is also good for the economy. Nassim Nicholas Taleb explains.
The City of Solitude: A great read on the lockdown in the city of Wuhan, China. Shawn Yuan interviewed many locals and how they dealt with the pandemic. When reading, I realized the universality of the solitude and fear of the lockdown. As a complement to this piece, I would also recommend this beautiful piece by A.F. Carter, an author of mystery books, who took a walk in New York during the lockdown.
