10 Quick Last-Minute Gift Ideas

Hello!

It’s been a while since I shared my picks with you. With Christmas just around the corner, some of you might be looking for last-minute gift ideas. I’ve compiled a list of items that make wonderful gifts or stocking stuffers. Most, if not all, of these products are part of my daily life and are well worth the investment.

  1. Kevin Kelly’s “Excellent Advice for Giving,” is probably my favorite book of the year. As the founding editor of Wired Magazine, an author, thinker, and futurist, Kevin is my go-to source for inspiration. His book is a rich distillation of wisdom gathered over his vibrant and varied life. As the tagline suggests, it’s full of “Wisdom I wish I’d known earlier,” and it’s a quick read. Pairing it with Viktor E. Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning, and/or Meditations by Marcus Aurelius could provide someone with a comprehensive framework for living a wiser life.
  2. Stand One by Nomad Goods is a fast-charging MagSafe charger I use nightly. It transforms my iPhone 15 ProMax into a night clock, thanks to iOS’s standby mode. The charger is robust, stable, and includes a 2-meter USB-C cable, priced at $110.
  3. GoldToe Men’s 656s Cotton Socks are excellent mid-calf socks available in white or black. At about $18 for six pairs, they’re great for bulk purchases. They maintain their shape and elasticity over time, making them my go-to choice for “boot” socks and gym wear. Comparable in price to Hanes but of superior quality, they’re a practical stocking stuffer. Amazon currently offers them at the lowest price.
  4. Tactile Turn Nitro Pen, priced at $149, is a perfect gift for coffee enthusiasts. It features rich coffee brown colors with a cream-colored clip. While not cheap, these pens are designed to last a lifetime and are compatible with nearly any refill. I particularly enjoy the feel of these pens and recommend them highly, especially for those who appreciate the craftsmanship of well-made things.
  5. Pro-Tech Runt 5 Reverse Tanto Automatic Knife at $165 is an exceptional tool for opening boxes or slicing apples. Recommended by Ben Brooks of The Brooks Review, this knife is well-made and compact, making it practical for everyday use without feeling overly aggressive.
  6. retaW fragrance tablets are ideal for keeping bags fresh, whether they’re for work, the gym, or travel. Available in an 8-pack from the Uncrate web store, the Evelyn scent is particularly suitable for gym bags and comes highly recommended by Bernard Antolin, editor/publisher of Acquire Mag.
  7. Nanu Nudge Counter is a beautifully engineered analog device for tracking daily habits like walking, water intake, or minimizing phone usage. It’s not only functional but also an elegant objet d’art.
  8. Midori Diamond Memo Pads, my everyday carry, are perfect for quick notes, lists, or random thoughts. Made in Japan from high-quality MD paper, they work well with various pens, including fountain pens. At $2 per pad, a dozen of these could last six months, making them an excellent gift choice.
  9. D.S. Durga, an independent perfume brand from Brooklyn, produces unmatched quality fragrances and candles. While I’ve yet to find a personal scent match, their “Be Still” candle is my favorite, reminiscent of serene moments and priced at $70.
  10. Master & Dynamic MW07 earphones are my top pick for audio devices. Despite owning AirPods Max, AirPods Pro, and custom Ultimate Ears in-ear headphones, I find myself using MW07s more frequently. They offer excellent noise cancellation and rich sound quality. The all-black design is discreet and stylish, a great alternative for those seeking something different from the all-too-common white earphones. While MW07s are no longer in production, the company’s newer MW08 and MW09 models are available.

Happy Holidays, and I hope you find these suggestions helpful for your last-minute festive shopping!
