Week 4, Project 365 (+1)

Creativity is more than just being creative — it’s about being disciplined, dedicated, and determined. This was a good week, particularly when it came to capturing photos out there. I forced myself not only to get out with the explicit intention of photography but also to make sure that I carried a camera with me every time I left my apartment.

Where I did fail was in not downloading the images to my computer, picking my favorites, and then editing them. It’s an old habit — I don’t really touch the images for months after capturing them — and then one day, I wake up with the perfect edit in my head. My approach to photography has been from the point of view of creating imaginary landscapes.

Doing this on a daily basis is pushing me to stretch out of my comfort zone. It’s uneasy and difficult — but I hope it will make me a better photographer in the long run.
