British Telecom posted strong results thanks to its IP-related efforts and demand for Broadband connections. Sales were up 3% to over $10 billion, while profits surged 4% to $1.01 billion. “Broadband DSL connections were more than 800,000 in the quarter, a new connection every 10 seconds of every day,” CEO Ben Verwaayen said. “We expect to achieve five million broadband DSL connections a year ahead of target,” he added. Clearly, the IP makeover of BT is finally beginning to pay-off dividends.
Maybe, but their customer service is appalling:

Pray that few of those 5 million customers ever have a problem, otherwise like me, they’ll just spent hours being bounced around various BT call center departments.
