Covad buys NextWeb for WiMAX Reasons
Covad has snapped up fixed wireless company NextWeb and will use its infrastructure in five key markets – San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Orange County (CA), Santa Barbara and Las Vegas. The deal is pegged at about $24.7 million – $4 million in cash and rest in stock. That’s three times 2004 sales of $8 million. So as reported earlier, Covad has made its fixed wireless intentions pretty clear.
