Covad to launch fixed wireless service in early 2006…. maybe

Light Reading reports that Covad is going to launch its commercial fixed wireless service sometime in the first quarter of 2006. I am not sure I believe that timeline. In October 2004, the company told me at Web 2.0 conference that it was going to be very soon. The trials were underway they said. Light Reading says the trials have been underway and 20 folks have been on the “trial” network. I would take their timeline, if not their intentions, with a grain of salt.
