Flarion Technologies, which is powering the 4G Wireless Broadband efforts of Nextel, is now getting some attention from the lawmakers in this country. The company has teamed up with Motorola to develop a highly secure high-speed wireless data network for security personnel in Washington DC. Flarion Chief Executive Ray Dolan told Reuters that “emergency services personnel would connect to the network, being built out in existing radio towers, via modems that slip in to a laptop’s PC card slot.”
