Damon over at Business 2.0 points to a New York Post article about How Google is raiding Microsoft and snapping up all the talent. Amazing how things have changed. Most people went to Microsoft from say Netscape to do something worthwhile and get rich.
The Post says the Google is raiding because it wants staff to produce its own Web browser. Maybe, but that seems like pretty low-hanging fruit for Google. We’re betting it has grander ambitions that provide a higher commercial rewards, perhaps something to do with finding and downloading music and movies.
With Microsoft stock showing less growth potential than Google, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that the talent raids are successful. BTW, the article mentions that one of the hires, Joe Beda, keeps a blog about his experiences at Google.
