Fyreball, a stealth mode company started by Halo3 alumni, has raised its first round of funding from Band of Angels and Alliance of Angels. The Bellevue, Wash.-based company, which was started earlier this year, is developing “a fun alternative to email,” whatever the hell that means. When I asked their spokeswoman to give me more details, this is what I got: “Putting it in very simple terms, they are working on a fun way of sending rich media, but it is obviously more exciting than that.” Oh we shall see. The product will launch in early 2008.
The company was started by Pete Parsons, Michael Evans, Michel Bastien and Jordan Weisman. Parsons was involved in Halo 2 and Halo 3, Bastien was the former lead producer of Halo 3, while Weisman had previously started FASA Corp., WizKids and 42 Entertainment. Other Fyreball founders include Chief Technical Officer Michael Evans, who was the lead engineer on Halo 2 and Bungie’s Oni. The Seattle P-I has more details on the company.
