Better late than never – it seems after missing the opportunity on 802.11g chip sales for months, ChipZilla, i.e. Intel is getting ready to ship the 802.11g variety of Centrinos. David Wong, an analyst with AG Edwards believes that Intel will soon release its next generation Pentium M processor, codenamed Dothan. The new products based on the 90 nanometer technology are going to be released in the first quarter of 2004. “We also expect updates to the remainder of the Centrino package by mid 2004. Specifically, we are looking for an updated PRO/Wireless 2100 network connection in Calexico 2 and the next generation Alviso chipset,” writes Wong. Lets hope this time around it is not Intel-conspired FUD.
