[qi:012] In the game of Internet Q&A, only Yahoo (and not Google) seems to have all the answers. But that doesn’t stop others from trying. AOL, a division of Time Warner is buying Israeli-start-up Yedda, betting that it can get traction in the “answers” game. Q&A is about asking internet for help and getting it and given AOL’s mostly mainstream user base, this seems like a calculated bet by AOL. More on Yedda here.
It looks like AOL’s strategy is to buy rather than to build.
I like the concept of Yedda and followed them for a while. See a good presentation here:

I think so Yakov. I think it is not such a bad strategy, as long as they figure out a way to keep their audiences engaged.
Social Answer sites like Yedda provide a powerful, engaging opportunity for everyone involved — publishers, user/customers, advertisers…. AOL made a smart move here if they can probably execute. Amazon created its own social answer site that leads directly into selling things on its site. Yahoo has “Answers” and more publishers will continue to buy or build social answers as we move forward… at least I hope so 🙂
Looks like Yedda has something new to offer to bloggers.
