I attended Apple’s iPhone event in Cupertino Tuesday, and live-blogged the proceedings here. Like everybody else, I was expecting two new iPhones and the release of iOS 7, and that’s what we got.
Here is what has been announced so far. We’ll have much more to come later.
A leaked image of the iPhone 5s box shows the home button being marked as “Touch id Scanner”. This is the new finger print scanner we have been waiting for. You can see the leaked image below:

OMG, that phone looks really cheap…
I am enthusiastic about the event. But will never buy this phone.
If you add the fingerprint scan to authorizing credit cards plus a beacon system like that shown to Emily Chang by PayPal, yesterday, the opening bell apps seem likely and productive.
Wow, only four comments so far and already 50% of the comments are from people going out of their way to say how much they hate this phone.
Listen, there are things I don’t like too. I don’t click on stories about them and take time out of my day to write comments telling the world how much I do not want to buy something. I just see the headline and move on.
Maybe that doesn’t work for you, but it makes my life nicer and I hope you at least consider it before writing another crap comment.
though we have been talking about Apple and iPhone for almost a lifetime now, I think if new iPhone comes cheaper, though with the technical advances, it’s about taking the brand and its appeal to the bigger skape, the not so rich kids around the globe willing to buy a new iPhone.
So far, everything about iOS 7 has been known to us beta users for the past few months. So no surprises yet. It’s nice to see a target date for a full version, though, since some of my apps still crash with the latest beta (which is, however, light years better than the first two beta versions. They were really sloooooowwww and buggy).
it feels like watching the launch of Nokia Lumia products
What about NFC ???
ninja – see my earlier comment. NFC not needed.
nitin – see my earlier comment. NFC not needed.
do you have any pictures of the new iphone 5s colors? grey gold white?
Who is the producer of the fingerprintsensor? Authentec, or some else?
I was hoping for a larger screen. Maybe the next generation.

@Om great insights, though the “Apple’s new 64-bit chip is too much for a smartphone, but great for a MacBook” article should be pulled – it’s technically inaccurate nonsense.
