Middle America fast becoming fiber America

Founded in 1956, Elkhart Telephone, has decided to go all fiber. The Kansas-based independent phone operator will be deploying Wave7 Optics gear in its new FTTP network in Kansas.  Elkhart will offer 4-lines per residence of VOIP, 100-channel RF-video television and high-speed data services, throughout its current subscriber base region of 1400 residential and business lines by the end of 2Q 2006.  Wave7’s Last Mile Link Ethernet-based technology won over the GPON (gigabit PON) technology from another FTTP vendor.

  1. You go Elkhart! I’ve long said that the way to bring jobs BACK to America is to bring TRUE broadband into rural America where you can buy a great 3 bedroom home on a half acrea for $60,000. This is great to see from a small, independent.
