These are indeed the early days, but Yahoo, Google and countless others are gearing up for battle. Their goal? To become the search tzar of choice for the world’s nearly 2 billion phone users. Can’t find your way out of a paper bag? Yahoo offers driving directions and a map for your mobile. Need the number of the ticket office at SBC Park? Google will send you an SMS with it in 10 seconds flat. And those are just the two earliest contenders; AOL, Ask Jeeves are also preparing for the fight.
