Ed Zander is no fool and he is not the fool who would take over the job of saving Motorola unless he had a big pay-off at the end of the day. According to a 10-K proxy filing, Zander is getting a whopper of a pay package – $1.5M salary, $2M targeted bonus, stock, and options. Works out to about $20 million a year.
bq.These include 400,000 restricted stock units worth $5.8m; a further tranche of restricted shares worth $1.5m; $600,000 in cash; and 1.35m options for which the company did not provide a value. On top of this, Motorola said Mr Zander would receive stock options worth $6.25m, as well as further stock worth $2m.
