RF Micro Devices is one of those companies which makes chips that are used by most of the cell phones on the planet. Unlike Qualcomm and Texas instruments, which make the guts of the cell phone, RFMD’s products are marginal in comparison, though no less important. The company announced that it has shipped its 1 billionth power amplifier.
Except that RFMD keeps losing market share to small competitors like ANAD and SWKS and they were too close to NOK for comfort.
