Seattle-based DSL provider, Speakeasy is working hard to stay true to its geek-user base. The company has just announced a customized version of Mozilla Firefox, thus becoming the first broadband provider-customized version of the fast growing Firefox browser. It has a plugin/extension which tweaks the Firefox for more tighter use with Speakeasy. I had hinted in my story on Firefox that a lot of companies could offer customized Firefox in the future. Speakeasy Edition is available as a free download to anyone at and will also be distributed in Speakeasy’s residential self-install broadband kits starting this month. This is clearly good news for Firefox. No mac version yet!
