Lets face it Sun can do only one thing right: make big boxes. But that doesn’t prevent them from trying different things. Now they are buying Storage Tek for $4.1 billion, hoping that they can take on EMC and IBM. I wonder why they even bother. Their track record in storage has been consistently poor. I think IBM’s strategy of partnering with Network Appliances makes more sense than this move. But then as someone said, Sun has to do something! More
