Tell Us What You’re Optimistic About for 2008 & Win A Sonos Music System

Updated: With Santa Claus about to come to town and 2008 just around the corner, I wanted to ask our community of readers what, from a purely technology perspective, you’re looking forward to in 2008.

Here is what I’d like you to do: Tell me, in 200 to 400 words, what you’re most optimistic about for 2008, and why. Send it to me via email at info at gigaom dot com, with the header: Optimism 2008. Or just submit your idea in the comments section below (but note the word-count limit there is 250 words).

The entries should be specific to technology and tech-related businesses only. You have to make a very compelling case, and I would prefer the entry to be written in first-person form. The contest ends at midnight on Dec. 31. You can submit only one entry.

One entry — the one that I love the most — will win its author a Sonos Digital Music System Bundle 130 (two rooms of music and a controller), which has a retail value of $999. The winning entry will be posted on Jan. 1, 2008.

This contest is open to U.S. & Canadian residents only and in order to participate, you need a U.S. or a Canadian mailing address — no P.O. boxes, please. Any entries without a valid U.S. mailing address and proper attribution will be rejected. Of all the entries that I receive, the best ones will be aggregated onto a single page, so that even if you don’t win, you get a chance to share your “optimism.”

So what are you waiting for?

My thanks to our friends as Sonos for sponsoring this little contest.

  1. 1) Android on all phones. Freedom to install apps of our choice.
    2) Mobile SMS innovation in countries like India. More ways to communicate with SMS.

  2. I am looking forward to Drobo coming out with a NAS box. I love the idea of Drobo and the way it works. Drobo’s ability to upgrade your storage by just adding one new drive and ease of use is great. The only thing I believe it needs is gigabyte Ethernet access.

  3. I am looking forward to Neuros Technology finally gets the N3 and their new version of the 442 released. I hope that the N3 still has the FM broadcasting capabilities of the Neuros I & II. And I hope that they are able to match or even beat the storage capacity of the 160 gb ipod classic.
