Terabeam buys Proxim assets

Terabeam has bought Proxim’s assets for approximately $28 million, beating out the $21 million offer from Moseley Associates. Mind you Terabeam was another company that had fallen on hard times, and had to merge with YDI Wireless, a microwave company. Terabeam, a free space optics company had blown through $500 million in venture capital, and suffered from the Gilder curse – whatever he loved turned to dirt.
