If and if the SBC-AT&T deal happens, then the reverberations are going to be felt in the VoIP market place. Now at first blush, one would think that this could be a big win for AT&T VoIP effort. But given that AT&T has formed a close alliance with cable operators to push its CallVantage service, you can expect CableCos to pull back from that position once AT&T becomes part of their mortal enemy – aka a bell company. On the flip side, Delta Three which has become a key VoIP provider to SBC might find itself on the outs, once SBC & ATT merge. But since it is all in the speculative stage, I am not going to contemplate about this any further, for now!
