Yahoo’s decision to buy DialPad is going act as a catalyst for a rapid consolidation in the VoIP business, predicts Andy Abramson. Next to be taken out is Delta Three, he says, which could elicit interest from Microsoft, Earthlink or even America Online. He believes that not only has Delta Three got a good back-end infrastructure, it can also bring the acquirers some good engineering expertise. Andy claims he is hearing a lot of chatter about this, just like homeland security folks hear chatter about pending threats. The company has a market cap of $104 million, but has a constitution of an infant. Given Delta Three has its own set of financial issues, making it a likely buyout candidate.
