A couple of days ago, I had urged Hewlett Packard to take the lead and help develop an online database of those who have passed away in the tsunami struck nations. While HP hasn’t stepped up, a bunch of volunteers have set up a website which allows families to identify the loved ones, according to Associated Press. The site has been set-up with the help of RC Group, a Hong Kong based company. (via Smart Mobs) Meanwhile Cisco, IBM and others like WCA has set-up a group to help re-establish communications in the affected regions. Red Herring Online has the full report. Meanwhile, I would love to give a big shout-out to Evelyn who has done a yeo(wo)man’s work in bringing to us the first hand reports from the affected regions.
