  1. Hi Om,

One thing always missing from articles about cellular data is the ** upload ** data rate. Everyone focuses on the download speed.

CDMA 1xRTT and 1xEv-DO both have download speeds of 40K bps – 60K bps.

If you can get DSL or a cable modem, there’s no way you should get 1xEV-DO as a replacement.

I’ve been using 1xRTT and 1xEV-DO, When there’s no dialup or you have a lot of patience, 1xRTT is usable, especially for e-mail (large files notwithstanding). 1xEV-DO is much better and the browsing experience and downloading large files actually isn’t bad as at — most of the time.

  2. evdo is great when doing solid downloads or strong for general web browsing ONLY if you tune you system… Verizon added a high latency time to keep voip down and network costs down too.. but new phones will be available…

well… at http://lg-vx8000-evdo.com you’ll find all the broadband specs for the video phone and settings… BUT… i dont know if i’d move quite yet… http://blackberry-phones-evdo.com will announce when the Blackberry RIM video phone is on the market…
