Verizon Wireless, in its bid for global domination is all set to launch its first truly global phone. The launch could come as early as next month. The phone will support both the GSM and CDMA standards, making it easier for Global Executives to hop on the plane and use their phone in Bangalore, Belgium or back in Boston. The phone is rumored to cost $300 or more. According to the US Commerce Department’s Office of Travel & Tourism Industries, in 2002 23.4 million Americans traveled abroad, reports the Boston.com. Of course this phone will also smoothen the relations between Vodafone and Verizon, who are now stuck with each other. Not such good news for T-Mobile or even Cingular/AT&T combo.
