  1. I’d like to know what if anything the iPad folks consume in greater quantities.

My Fire has seen a good bit of stream through Netflix and Hulu. Amazon Instant is notably absent from that list because their pricing is just high enough, that I won’t rent/buy a video impulsively. I’ve primarily used the Fire for books, magazines and streaming radio.

Interestingly, these are things I could have been doing for months/years with my Android phone/tablet, but generally didn’t. The Fire has done a great job of getting me to take the all important first hit.

I don’t doubt that’s exactly what Amazon intended.

    1. I’m doing the same thing. A fair amount of Netflix. Stuff that I could have done on my laptop for years but almost never have. The modest sized screen is very convenient and appears quite sharp, so I watch content during breakfast or when I just feel like vegging out.

  2. Watching absolutely nothing on my Kindle Fire.

Won’t play Amazon Instant, won’t tell you why. 95% sure it’s because they are blocking IP addresses outside the United States.

Kindle Fire as a travel device for airports and international hotels? #EPICFAIL

They have a serious identity crisis if they are pushing the Kindle as a device to use on travel/vacations.

Love my other 5 E-Ink Kindles. Kindle Fire— getting really bored with Angry Birds.

    1. Netflix and Hulu are generally not available outside US. I think the same is true for Amazon Instant. It has nothing to do with Kindle Fire.

  3. My wife and I love our new Kindle Fire. It’s lightweight, easy to use and has a great interface. The first thing I recommend anyone with a new Kindle do is install the nook app. We got our instructions from http://www.kindlemad.com through google.

It basically unlocks all the Android marketplace apps and unlocks the device. I am one very happy Kindle owner!

  4. One of the first things I did with my fire was download an AIV purchase I had made of one of my favorite anime series, Toradora!, a.d watch it. I have also used the Crunchyroll app to watch some shows there, and have watched some shows on streaming websites like The Anime Network. Also watched some netflix and a little bit of the free prime video.

  5. i also wonder how much of the tech blog consumption was directly relate to reading/viewing article about the kindle fire itself.

  6. My bf got me a Kindle Fire for my birthday and I love it. It’s lightweight and easy to use straight out of the box. The first thing I recommend anyone with a new Kindle do is install the nook app. We got our instructions from http://www.kindlemad.com through google.

It basically unlocks all the Android marketplace apps and unlocks the device. Super happy!
