It was a busy week that started off that way. In between trying to make sense of all things Mobile World Congress and the announcements made at that big show in Barcelona, I read a lot of stuff on the web, thanks to these five tips for power browsing from former LifeHacker editor Gina Trapani, even if it meant going back to Firefox. And when I was done with the week, a friend pointed me to a tweet by Lee Unikrich, who is busy editing Toy Story 3. I can’t wait to see the movie and at the same time also marvel at the idea:  Modern classics are made on a mere laptop at 36,000 feet in the sky. * Web Strategy Matrix: Jeremiah Owyang of The Altimeter Group breaks down the buzz around Facebook, Google Buzz, Twitter and MySpace and comes up with an easy-to-use matrix that outlines what brands need to do in each case for the right social media strategy.

* Five user experience trends you should be following: Gene Smith, author of Tagging: People-Powered Metadata for the Social Web, outlines five major trends that are going to influence user experience in 2010.

* The Usability lab of the new decade — Analytics: The Adaptive Path blog makes an argument that data analytics is the new new usability testing. The trick is knowing how to take raw data, turn that into information, turn information into insights, and then turn insights into action — something I learned a long time ago from my friend Pip Coburn.

* The iPad UI Conventions: A lovely slideshow by Fraser Speirs of all things iPad and its user interaction conventions.

* What will Geolocation Services look in 2014?: Peter Batty of Ubisense, in a two part post, outlines various scenarios and applications of Geolocation data in the future. Part 1 and Part 2.

* My Son & Asperger’s Syndrome: Basab Pradhan, formerly CEO of Gridstone Research, goes to see a new Bollywood movie, My Name is Khan, and writes a beautiful essay about his son and Asperger’s Syndrome. It was the most human and heartfelt post I read this week.
