What you should read (& watch) this weekend

There are so many words on the Internet, but very few are worth reading on a Sunday morning, when you could be out for brunch with friends, on the beach or simply lazing around in bed. However, some words are more equal than others and worth the effort. A few pieces I can recommend for your reading pleasure this weekend:

• Jonathan Knee argues in The Atlantic that content isn’t the king, but aggregation is. I would argue more than aggregation, distribution is more important – it is king maker.
• Kim Zetter in Wired magazine writes about how digital detectives figured out and tamed Stuxnet. I read this and learned a lot of new things.
• Kim Girard talks to Harvard Business School professor Thomas J DeLong who has just published his book, Flying without a Net: Turn fear of change into fuel for success. This article is a great read and a good reason why all of us workaholics in Silicon Valley should learn to get a grip.
• Five authors view on information overload from the Basex blog. (Listen to the entire conversation in Windows Media format here.)
• Convergence 2.0 = Service + Social + Physical. Hugh Dubberly makes a great argument about how the world has changed from the last interpretation of convergence that was publishing + broadcasting + computing. Dubberly is a design guru who worked at Apple and Netscape as well.
• Allen Bonde argues that story telling is key to social media marketing. I would say story telling is key to everything – from find a date to creating a compelling application.
• Now that we are friends on social networks, let’s get to know each other. Enjoy this lighthearted piece by Amber Naslund.
• Dave Winer shared this and I am re-sharing – How software companies die. This is from 1995and i not very long. It is a classic, a golden oldie, and timeless. Much like Dave.

• A conversation with designer Sir Paul Smith on life, happiness, joy, Internet and more. This is one of the most fun/inspiring conversations you might see. It is non-techie, so I have not posted it on GigaOM.
