A six year old spanish wireless company, AWA is planning to set-up a massive wireless network in Spain. The company will install 12,000 access points, out of which 4,500 will be installed in gas stations.
Other access points will be fired-up in in approximately 40 shopping centers and public buildings. The deal is good news for some of the vendors who are selling to AWA including wireless mesh equipment maker, Firetide and VoWAN vendor Meru Networks.
“Hot Zone” is one of those phrases that doesn’t quite translate directly ( Hot Zone = Zona Caliente ) into Spanish. I think the closest accurate translation, however, would be “Zona WiFi Encendida” ( where Encendida = On or Ablaze, depending on the context ). So “Hot Zone” would turn into “WiFi-On Zone”.
Viva las zonas WiFi encendidas !
